China Huaneng held the COP30 "China Pavilion" themed side event
On November 18th local time in Brazil, the "China Pavilion" themed side event co-hosted by China Huaneng Group was held at the 30th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP30). The theme of the event was "Carbon Neutrality and Energy Intelligence: Promoting Technological, Industrial Policy Innovation and International Cooperation". It was the first time that China Huaneng hosted the "China Pavilion" at the Conference of the Parties.
The event was guided by the Department of Climate Change of the Ministry of Ecology and Environment and the Publicity and Education Center. It was divided into three thematic sessions: "Strategic Planning and Evaluation", "Monitoring and Systemic Technologies", and "Key Supporting Technologies and Applications". At the event, Huaneng Energy Research Institute released the latest research results on Dual Carbon Goals, titled The Transition Path of Power Generation Enterprises under the Dual Carbon Goals. It systematically analyzed the carbon peaking and carbon neutrality path of China's power industry, and highlighted the low-carbon technology innovation achievements and green development practices of China Huaneng, demonstrating the company's commitment to promoting green transition.
China Huaneng "Yellow Sea No.1" wave-resistant floating offshore photovoltaic platform, featuring leading technical strength, significant environmental benefits, and sustainable development model, was successfully included into the Energy Transition Case Selection of Sustainable Business COP30, which was the only selected case from China. As China's first deep-sea wave-resistant floating offshore photovoltaic project, "Yellow Sea No.1" was invested and constructed by the Huaneng Shandong Branch and developed and designed by the Huaneng Clean Energy Research Institute. The stable operation of the project under complex sea conditions verified the reliability and practicability of deep-sea photovoltaic technology, providing important technical support and scalable practical experience for the large-scale development of offshore renewable energy in China, and contributing “Huaneng Solution” to global low-carbon energy development.
